UNAIR NEWS – Stories of final year students are mostly similar, completing their final assignments by finding the right topics, research titles, and even re-working the content of the thesis. Ema Marantika’s experience finally ends well. The graduate from Nganjuk Regency known familiarly as Ema, was named the best graduate of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Airlangga in the graduation ceremony on December 2nd. She earned a 3.77 GPA.
Ema also several times changed her theory framework and her research site for her thesis. Of course she also encountered various challenges, from an accident to some communication issues in her research site.
“Regarding the theory, I often changed it because that time I had incorrect understanding and finally directed by my supervisor,” recalled Ema Marantika.
The activist of Airlangga University Bidikmisi Organization (AUBMO – Airlangga University Bidik Misi Organization ), was pleased as she succeeded in realizing the wishes and happiness of her parents, to be the best bachelor’s degree graduate of FISIP UNAIR.
“This is indeed their dream and wish (parents – ed ), and alhamdulillah I can fulfill it,” she said.
Asked about tips to be the best? Ema said that final year students should work hard to find a topic or theme for their theses and they should be ready and prepared to see their supervisors.
“To see the supervisor, especially the strict one, we should be ready and prepared. For example by reading more references, either references from within or outside the country, ” she added.
In the end of her tips, Ema reminded again that laziness is always around. When it happens, it is necessary to look for entertainment, to refresh your mind. (*)
