UNAIR NEWS – August is synonymous with national celebrations. Besides the Indonesian Independence Day on August 17, August 14 is also celebrated as Pramuka’s Day or Scout’s Day.

On August 14th, scouting organizations across Indonesia celebrate their anniversary with various activities, including UNAIR Scouting UKM. On Sunday evening, August 13, members of Scouting UKM retook their oath.

“Every year on the 13th evening we retook our oath in a ceremony,” said Maulana Fajar Prayoga, Head of Scouting UKM UNAIR.

The ceremony held in front of the Management Office Building UNAIR was aimed to remember and make the scouts remember of the three scout promises contained in Tri Satya Pramuka.

The next day, Monday, August 14, the members of the club also distributed stickers and took a picture with UNAIR officials and the UKM leaderships. The sticker distribution was to connect with the academic community.

“On the 14th we went around campus. Starting from campus A, B, and C to take pictures with the university officials, “said Fajar.

Besides distributing stickers and taking pictures with the officials of UNAIR, they also took pictures with iconic landmarks in UNAIR. To make people aware of the important day,  the members wore their scout uniforms in the campus area for two days.

“For two days we require all members to use the Scout uniform, even though they are having classes,” he told UNAIR News . (*)
