UNAIR NEWS – Friday, 24 March 2017, became a happy day for Faculty of Nursing (FKp). Flag ceremony opened its 9th Anniversary, which was followed by morning exercise by all civitas academica. The Dean of Faculty of Nursing Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Nurs (Hons),let go some balloons as symbol of gratitude in welcoming the Anniversary of their beloved faculty. The glorious Anniversary which will take place until 7 April 2017 chose Strengthen Nursing Profession to Achieve Professionalism in the Global Era as their theme.
One of the many activities in glorifying the Anniversary was NERS Cup 2017 which took place from 24 until 26 March 2017. Some sports were showcased: badminton, table tennis and futsal. The games were open for public and were joined by students from other universities. It took place in GOR PoltekkesKemenkes Surabaya.
Thirteen (13) teams took part in badminton competition. The Faculty of Nursing team (A) secured the first place, followed by Stikes Hangtuah Surabaya. Other semifinalists (third winners) were UnipduJombang and PoltekkesKemenkes Surabaya.
Table tennis were joined by 19 female teams and 11 male teams. The first winner was AkperMadiun team. Number two was Dian Husada (B) team. Third winner were the two semifinalists, UniversitasMuhammadiyah Surabaya and another Akperfrom Madiun.
First winner for male table tennis was won by Surya Mitra Husada Kediri. The Faculty of Nursing team had to be satisfied as the runner up. Third winners were Stikes Baptis Kediri and Ngudia Husada Madura. Prof. Nursalamas the Dean of Faculty of Nursing presented the winners with the prizes on Saturday (25/03) at Poltekkes Kemenkes Sports Center Surabaya.
There were 44 teams joining Futsal games. For three days, enthusiastic participants livened up the games which ran smoothly. All these were due to good cooperation of all the participants and the committee. Satrya Bhakti Nganjuk futsal team successfully secured first place. They beat Ngudia Husada Madura (A) in the final. Third winners were PSIK Unitri Malang and Akper Lamongan (B).
“All of these activities were not meant to just find a winner. More important is good relationship from fellow nurses in Indonesia especially in East Java,” asserts Prof. Nursalam.
