UNAIR NEWS – The organization for Universitas Airlangga Bidikmisi Grantees, Airlangga University Bidik Misi Organization (AUBMO) PDD Banyuwangi held an entrepreneurship workshop for its members, Saturday (18/3). The aim was to share knowledge and develop entrepreneurship skills of the students.
According to Fauzi Zarkasi, the Chief of AUBMO PDD UNAIR in Banyuwangi, this event involved all grantees of Bidikmisi scholarship in PDD UNAIR Banyuwangi. The aim was to encourage the students to be more independent, confident of their own skills, and to have no doubt in trying new things out.
“The concept of this event is a talk show followed by a role play, with Dewi Arum Muqaddimah, an alumni of Marketing Management Universitas Airlangga class of 2010 as the keynote speaker,” Fauzi said.
Excitedly, Dewi Arum presented her materials. She emphasized to the students that success was not merely about luck, but it started from within them. Success was about how much preparation one did, how one learned, what innovation one had done, and the tenacity one pursued optimally. A lot of entrepreneurs reached their success because they could learn from the previous failures. “Therefore, don’t give up and don’t be easily satisfied with the result you have achieved at the moment,” said Dewi Arum, smilingly.
Dewi Arum Muqaddimah has plunged into entrepreneurship life since Junior High School. At first she only sold ginger coffee at school, now she is successful with her 14 employees in a legal industry of all kinds of knitting with handmade batik knit shoes as the featured product.
Mohammad Bayu Alfian, the coordinator of the Ministry of Entrepreneurship AUBMO PDD Banyuwangi added that this event would not stop here. The role play of this event would be an entrepreneurial practice in groups. To support that, capital was distributed alternately by the Ministry of Entrepreneurship. The total prize was up to Rp 1 million for the three best groups. (*)
