UNAIR NEWS – One of the targets of Universitas Airlangga is to become a world class university. Airlangga Health Science Institute (AHSI) which is ready to compete at global scene has taken this target seriously. All this time, Institute of Tropical Disease as a supporting unit of AHSI has made a lot of efforts to conduct international level research. Hopefully with AHSI, international research and publication can be improved greatly.

“It is a great opportunity to collaborate and complete each other. With excellent coordination of units, collaboration will develop well and the objective will be achievable,” said the Head of  ITD Prof. Maria Lucia Inge Lusida, M.Kes., Ph.D., dr., Sp.MK.

In different occasion, AHSI secretary Dr. Achmad Chusnu Romdhoni, dr., Sp.THT-KL (K) said that there are a lot of institutions similar to AHSI overseas. AHSI tries to collaborate with them and automatically the supporting units can also collaborate with them. Therefore, AHSI will simplify international research and publication in ITD.

Furthermore, the human resources in UNAIR Hospital, Tropical Infectious Disease Hospital, and Dental and Oral Hospital will get opportunities to have exchange programs, either related to research, service improvement, and also for education and trainings.

AHSI has always accomplished research and publication targets, either at national or international level. They just need to develop and produce the results of their researches and findings.

“The point is, we want to contribute insolving national problems or even global problems. UNAIR must participate as the university has enough resources and excellent supporting components,” said the Director of AHSI Prof. Dr. Nasronudin, dr., Sp.PD-KPTI., FINASIM. (*)
