UNAIR NEWS – To synchronize with international universities’ quality, Universitas Airlangga officials have plans to improve the number of programs to be regionally certified.
In 2017, there will be nine programs to be certified by ASEAN University Networking-Quality Assessment (AUN-QA), in which UNAIR has been a member since 2011.
The nine programs ready to be assessed by AUN-QA are bachelor programs of Economics, Midwifery, Communications studies, Aquaculture, Dentistry, Psychology, Nursing, Accounting and International Relations.
The Chairman of Quality Assurance Board (BPM), Prof. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, drh., DEA, said that the nine programs are working on their self assessment report (SAR). From those nine programs, three of them have been visited by assessors while the other six working on their SAR documents.
“Three are ready to go. So, we will evaluate how far and we will support them intensively. There is an internal guidance from BPM, there is also a meeting we hold once in two weeks. From there we can assess, this is ready. They have to work on their complementary documents, and the appendix all in English. These ones are ready and the others will follow,” said Prof. Bambang.
Nevertheless, his unit is going to send the SAR documents in the near future. They will be sent to AUN-QA in the end of 2016 or early January of 2017.
“We are trying to submit them all. We have started it since February, but there were a lot of things related, not only the preparation in UNAIR but also about the curriculum, is it redesigned or not, depends on each program,” he said.
There have been six programs of UNAIR certified by AUN-QA assessors. They are Medicine, Law, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, Biology and Chemistry. This December, there were three programs visited by AUN-QA assessors, Management, Health Sciences and English Literature. (*)
