UNAIR NEWS – Nursing master program of Faculty of Nursing (FKp) UNAIR held a national seminar titled “Building Nurses’ Professionalism through professional and Interprofessional Competence Development,” on Sunday, December 17.
Held in Kahuripan hall, there were some speakers from practitioners to academicians. The seminar was not attended only by UNAIR students but also from healthcare institutions, and academicians from other cities, such as Lumajang, Madiun, Jember, and Medan.
First speaker, Dr. dr. Slamet Riyadi, explained important things the nurses need to know are not only the science but also the art of applying it in the society.
“Science we understand and learn must be applied in the society. Students’ works can be applied in the form of community service,” he said.
The next speaker, Priyati said that in Good Clinical Governance (GCG), clinical care is the core of hospital service. Therefore, in her opinion, clinical service system development through GCG aimed to maintain excellent implementation of healthcare service.
“Everything should be done based on high standards of service and in a professional environment,” she said.
In the second session, the speaker was Misutarno of RSUD Dr Soetomo. He emphasized the importance of Patient Centered Care (PCC), a service oriented to patient care.
“Let us be professional nurses and use excellent nursing care and always keep diagnostic nursing in mind so there are trust and collaboration with the doctor,” explained Misutarno as he encouraged the participants to be nurses with character. (*)
