UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga Postgraduate School Student Association (HIMASEPA UNAIR) held a blood donation event on December 1. It was held in Postgraduate School in collaboration with the Red Cross (PMI) of Surabaya.
It was HIMASEPA routine event and a form of social and humanity care by them and all academicians in campus.
“Through this event we hope that it can give benefits to others who really need helps. One drop of our blood may be useful for their lives,” said Andi Paerah, one of the committees.
“There were at least 53 donors including Vice Director I of Postgraduate School, Prof. Dr. Anwar Ma’ruf., drh., M.Kes,” added the Head of Executive Committee Nur Anilawati, S-2 PSDM student.
The participants were from students and staff of Universitas Airlangga Post graduate School. Some public also participated.
Prof. Dr. Anwar Ma’ruf., drh., M.Kes said that this event should be held every semester. “Alhamdulillah, it ran well because of supports from all parties. The committee has certainly work with great enthusiasm to organize the event,” said the professor of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH).
This event is very useful, not only to show social contribution but also promotes health of the donors. By donating their blood, automatically, the body will produce new blood so it is more refreshing. (*)
