UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, MT., SE., Ak., MCA., graduated 874 students of UNAIR in Airlangga Convention Center Campus C UNAIR Jl. Dr. Ir. Soekarno (Mulyorejo) Surabaya, Saturday, December 3, 2016. The graduates were from various programs, Three year program(D-3), bachelor (S-1), master (S-2), and doctoral(S-3) programs. They were from 13 faculties of UNAIR.
This graduation was quite special. It is the first one after UNAIR celebrated its 62ndd anniversary and it also closed the academic year of 2016.
Presence in this occasion, there were Pacitan Regent Drs. Indartato, MM., Special Crime Assistant of East Java Attorney Office I Made Suarnawan SH, MH., Col. (L) Navy, Aspers Armatim, Letkol (L) Agus Karyanto from Navy Academy, Lt. Col. (L) Drs. Ambar Kristiyanto, M.Si., from Kodikal, Admiral D. Yunianto from Dasar Wasantara Lemhanas RI, Anang Endaryanto from RSUD Dr. Soetomo, also the parents of the graduates.
For this graduation, December 2016, the graduates were from Faculty of Medicine (49 people), Faculty of Dentistry (39 people), Faculty of Law (70), Faculty of Economics and Business (182), Faculty of Pharmacy (31), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (29), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (28), Faculty of Science and Technology (79), Faculty of Public Health (135), Faculty of Psychology (48), Faculty of Humanities (112), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (55), and Postgraduate School(17).
In this occasion,UNAIR Rector also presented certificates for Best graduates and Outstanding graduates. Best graduates were given to 24 people from various faculties with cumlaude GPA or above 3.50. Outstanding graduates were presented to eight people from some faculties with non-academic achievements.
In his speech, UNAIR Rector reminded the graduates that challenges in the future will be even bigger compared to the previous graduates. In economy for example, there is a slow economic growth which will affect differently.
“The competition will be more intense and happens on daily basis. Therefore, be ready to face it. But I’m a hundred percent sure that UNAIR graduates will win the competition as all of you have been prepared well with good moral and skills, heart and instinct, so not only for excellence but also with morality, not only the brain but also heart,” said UNAIR Rector.
Alumni were encouraged to continue study, study and study. Learn from anything, from the smarter people, the better, people with more experience and everything. By being the best, students’ reputation will affect alma mater’s. It means that it can keep dignity and integrity of Universitas Airlangga (*)
