UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga has established an excellent reputation at international level. As a proof, from Monday, November 21, to Friday, November 25, there are twelve students and a lecturer from Doon Business School (DBS) India visiting management Master program Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). Their objective is to learn more on business strategies and management in a cross cultural context.
The head of the MM FEB program, Dr. Gancar Chandra Premananto SE, MSi., explained that the program is called International Class Program Strategic Journey. His unit has prepared special program for the foreign students. It was also the first international program specifically on Management Strategies. It was held with full support of faculties, Directorate of Education and International Office and Partnership (IOP).
Hopefully, DBS program can be an excellent start of programs offered to other business school overseas. “Hopefully there will be more business foreign students coming to MM FEB. So our international reputation will be higher, especially after the acknowledgement made by international accreditation board ABEST 21,” said Gancar.
Beside a public lecture from UNAIR experts, the students from India were also went on a city tour visiting some interesting places such as House of Sampoerna, Petrokimia Gresik, Jemursari batik learning centre, Kenjeran and other places. In the last day, they are requested to present a case and enjoy an artistic performance.
Meanwhile, Navajyoti Singh Negi, PhD, the supervising lecturer in DBS group said that his unit has done an extensive research before choosing UNAIR. “We see UNAIR has character and great potentials on strategic management related to Indonesian cultural wealth,” he said on Monday morning, November 23 in the House of Sampoerna.
One of the students from DBS, Sameer Chhetry appreciated all events organized by MM FEB. “We could get clear picture on excellent strategic management and business,” he explained.
A day before, Tuesday, November 22, the Indian students and other FEB UNAIR students attend a public lecture. In chronological order, the speakers were Prof. Bambang Tjahyadi, talked about “Strategic Thinking for Non Profit Organization”, followed by Dr. Gancar C. Premananto with “5 C’s in the mind of Strategist”.
Also ” Strategy for Change Management” from Dian Ekowati, PhD and “Big Data Analysis for Strategic Purpose” by Dr. Ing. Hendro Wicaksono. From India, Navajyoti Singh Negi, PhD, closed the lecture with “Cross Cultural in Strategy Setting”. (*)
