UNAIR NEWS – The students are expected to be proactively seeking for information and relations for their career in the future after graduation. Beside getting knowledge from the classes, literature studies from scientific journals, the students are also expected to conduct direct observation on the field so the professional skill, an important factor in learning can be achieved.
According to Diansanto Prayoga S.KM.,M.Kes., the supervising of Banyuwangi Public Health Assosiation (B-PHA) in order to expand the students’ knowledge on professional world, the Division of Career Preparation B-PHA as the student association of Public Health Science program PDD Banyuwangi held an activity My Trip My Education (MTME) in PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo Tbk (Sari Roti) and Wisata Bhakti Alam in Tutur, Kab. Pasuruan, East Java, Sunday, November 8.
“There were 100 representative students from the class of 2014, 2015 and 2016 with the lecturers and student affairs officials of UNAIR PDD Banyuwangi visiting those two target locations,” he said.


According to Nur Risca Azizah, 20, the head of the committee, it was held to facilitate public health department students in PDD BAnyuwangi to expand their scientific knowledge and insight especially on public health environment, science, health and work safety (K3), health promotive and nutritional science implementation on the field, supported by theoretical mastery obtained from the learning process in classes.
K3 and environmental health studies in PT Nippon Indosari Corpindo was guided by a speaker from Soffahmi Pratama Susanti, Quality Assurance (QA) and Quallity Control (QC) department staff. She was happy for the visit and hoped that the visit to the company to be a continuous educational process.
Rochmad Ardiansyah P, 19, as the head of the committee added that after MTME, the participants are expected to get more extensive knowledge on how to apply public health science on the field. “So we won’t be referred to theories only,” said Rochmad. (*)
