UNAIR Student Wins Medals in Equestrian Competition

UNAIR NEWS –  One of the best students of Universitas Airlangga, has made another achievements at sports. This time, Zahlul Yussar, a student of Communication Studies UNAIR 2014 who is also a equestrian athlete, won the second and third place in International competition “CINTA Indonesia Open 2016”.

The competition held in APM Equestrian Center, Tigaraksa, Tangerang was participated by about 40 riders from many countries. On November 11-13, they competed in the favorite event of horseriding athletes.

“CINTA Indonesia Open is an international competition as the participants are mostly from overseas like Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and many other countries,” said the owner of “Ameg Stable Equestrian” equestrian course.

In the competition, the student who has been keen on horseriding got the second place in Jumping 100 com and third place in 1005 cm Young Horse. “I am grateful as I got third place in 105 cm Young Horse and second place in Show Jumping 100 cm,” he said.

Regarding the preparation, Zahlul explained that he has not had enough time to make preparation as he was an active student. So, his classes often overlap with his practice.

“The problem was on the tight schedule of practice and studying, so I couldn’t prepare well for the competition,” she complained.

But limited time to prepare did not make him less spirited to make achievement. Zahlul even made achievements in different event but held in the same place, World Jumping Challenge.

“World Jumping Challenge was held in November 6, it is a different competition but same venue. It was held by PORDASI . I participated and got the third place,” he said proudly.

Zahlul has a hope that he himself can be chosen to represent Indonesia in international event, like Sea Games or Asian Games. “I hope that I can represent Indonesia in international events in Sea Games 2018 and Asian Games,” he hoped . “Hope I can make other achievements,” he added. (*)
