UNAIR NEWS – Topic of discussion on maritime has been popular, especially since Joko Widodo has taken office, some of Jokowi’s programs are even utilizing Indonesian maritime resources better.
The incident most remembered and received attention from the public was when the Indonesian Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti didn’t hesitate to sink the fishing boats from other countries.
Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK) together with its Student Executive Board (BEM) of FPK UNAIR did not want to miss the latest issue of maritime, by holding a National Seminar in Garuda Mukti Hall, Management Office, Sunday, November 13. The seminar entitled “Continuous Marine and Fishery Development to Support Nawacita Program for Indonesia as the Global Maritime Axis”
“Prior to this seminar, we had a National Scientific Writing Competition, on Friday, November 11 announced on Saturday, November 12. So today, there will be presentations of the winners and the prize awarding,” explained Russandy, Vice-Chairman of the Committee.
Invited as a speaker, Dean of the Faculty of Marine Technology, Institut Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya Prof. IR. Daniel. M. Rosyid, Ph.d., m.RINA, Senior Fisheries Officer of WWF Indonesia Wahju Subachri, and KOARMATIM Surabaya Admiral TNI Darwanto, SH., MAP.
This time, the seminar was attended and opened by the Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof. Moch. Amin Alamsjah, IR., M.Si., Ph.D, Vice Dean III of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine UNAIR, Wahju Tjahjaningsih, IR., M.Si, Chairman of BEM FPK and the several lecturers and officials of FPK.
“The aim of this seminar is to introduce the Jokowi’s programs in marine sector, so we will realize that Indonesia wealthy by the sea,” said Russandy. (*)
