Visit UNAIR to Improve Motivation

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga keeps receiving visits from senior high schools in Indonesia. This time, UNAIR through Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) received 170 students of SMAN I Bangil, Tuesday, November 15.

Hundreds of students supervised by their teachers crowded the hall of Student Center, Campus C, UNAIR. They seemed enthusiastic with the presentations on UNAIR and student admission in UNAIR. The information was given  by Dr. Eduardus Bimo Aksono, drh., M.Si., as the secretary of PIH, and Dr. Zainal Arifin, M.Si, from Student Admission Center (PPMB).

The supervising teacher from SMAN I Bangil Drs. Choirul Anwar, M.Si, said that in the last three years, his students have routinely visited UNAIR. The visit is made to give students motivation to continue their studies further.

“Through the visit, students get a lot of knowledge on the university profile, especially on UNAIR as many of our students have been admitted in it. We facilitate the students who want to continue to UNAIR, Alhamdulillah, there is positive response. From all study concentration, Science, Social and Language there are 170 students,” he said.

Choirul admitted, year by year, a lot of his students have admitted in UNAIR. In his opinion, SMAN 1 Bangil is motivated to make its students study in UNAIR.

Alhamdulillah,it has been our motivation to always improve quota we get from UNAIR,” said Choirul.

Meanwhile, Luluil Maqnun, an outstanding class XII student of SMAN I Bangil said that she has been interested to study in UNAIR. She wants to study in Medicine program, Faculty of Medicine (FK). She wants to be a doctor since childhood.

“I want to get into FK UNAIR, as since childhood my passion is in medicine. I want to work in the hospital. The second choice is pharmacy or the alternative, medical analyst of vocational studies,” she said.

Similar to Luluil, Putri Afin Nurhayati Class XII student, said that this visit helped her a to get information on student admission.

“I got a lot of information on bachelor programs. From the visit I now know which must be considered to choose a department, what the requirements are. They are important to choose a department,” said the first winner of Biology Olympiad of East Java. (*)
