UNAIR NEWS – On Thursday November 10, 2016, academicians of UNAIR will celebrate the day of 62nd Dies Natalis of Universitas Airlangga . The main events are Scientific Oration and Indonesia Research and Innovation Expo (IRIEx).

The scientific oration will be held on Thursday, November 10, at 0900 in Garuda Mukti Hall and First Floor Hall of Management Office Building UNAIR. It will be attended by university officials, academic senates, deans, professors, military and police officers and also students.

Commissioner and Deputy Chairman of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Laode Muhammad Syarief, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D., will deliver a scientific oration titled “Academician Based Anti-Corruption and Campus towards Just and Civilized Indonesia”.

After scientific oration presided by UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. M. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak., the participants will be invited to Airlangga Convention Center to the opening of  IRIEx. As planned, Indonesian Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman will open and inspect the research exhibition directly.

Research exhibition with 70 participants from various institutions, universities, state or private, industrials, and agencies also micro and medium enterprises. Beside indoor venue, it is also held outdoor. There will be displays of animal and herbal plant products bred and reared by some faculties of UNAIR.

Beside exhibition, there is also a seminar attended by UNAIR academicians and stakeholders. The seminar and talkshow will be attended by public administrations, community organizations and academicians. There is also a workshop on scientific writing for senior high schools of Surabaya. It is held to improve students’ sensitivity and understanding on the importance on scientific writing.

In 2016, the theme of UNAIR Dies Natalis is “62 Years Universitas Airlangga for Just and Civilized Indonesia”. UNAIR Rector said that it was chosen to show the public that UNAIR is ready and has made efforts to answer latest challenges of Indonesia.

“It was chosen to answer the latest condition of Indonesia, Injustice, therefore UNAIR supports and makes efforts to achieve justice through civilized ways,” said UNAIR Rector. (*)
