UNAIR NEWS – Almost every parts of the front yard of Management Office Building Universitas Airlangga in Campus C on Saturday, November 5, was dominated by white color. It was the attire color of about 30,000 people in ”UNAIR Bersholawat, untuk Indonesia Adil dan Beradab” with Habib Syekh bin Abdul Qodir Asseghaf. They came from any regions in East Java. Beside Surabaya, there were groups from Sidoarjo, Bangil, Pasuruan, Pandaan, Gresik, Tuban, Lamongan, Kediri, Malang, and Blitar.
As the performance of Al-Banjari started by Islamic Arts UKM, the people crowded the area around the stage built in front of Ulul Azmi Mosque UNAIR. Then after Isya’ and there was Al-Banjari ”Ahbabul Musthofa” on stage, the enthusiasts called “Syekher-mania” were increasing in numbers.
They were hysterical as Ustadz Habib Syekh bin Abdul Qodir Asseghaf got on stage from Ulul Azmi Mosque. He was accompanied by UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih, Director of Student Affairs UNAIR Dr. M Hadi Subhan, Prof. M Nuh (former Minister of Education and Culture) and Dahlan Iskan (former BUMN Minister), and other UNAIR officials. Vice Governor Syaifulloh Yusuf (Gus Iful) also came later.
Before leading the sholawat Habib Syekh prayed for UNAIR to be even more advanced and excellent in the future as we all wish. He said that religious activities in campus are great things as they are pursuant to resources education handled by universities.
Habib Syekh led the sholawat schematically followed by all the participants. A segment of sholawat then one speech, another sholawat and another speech, on and on. Prof. Dr. Ir. M. Nuh, DEA., Professor of ITS and former Mendikbud, also gave sermon during the event.
UNAIR Rector Prof. Moh Nasih stated that great participation of the event was a good sign, that we are all still grateful for Allah blessings. Therefore, UNAIR will always be blessed and given opportunities to serve and share knowledge after 62 years.
“Let’s together build togetherness and justice through discussion. UNAIR also expects your prayers and supports, so we are all blessed and protected by Allah. As only with Allah’s blessing, we will be able to finish our tasks ahead,” said Prof. Nasih.
Former Minister of BUMN Dahlan Iskan also prayed for UNAIR so they can serve even better. As an ordinary person, at least we experienced UNAIR service when we are sick and treated by UNAIR doctors. He also prayed so all UNAIR graduates can provide excellent services, and the ones from Faculty of Law can provide justice.
”After a week of uneasiness in Medaeng, in UNAIR tonight I find joy, peace, delight and perfect happiness,” said Dahlan Iskan.
Dr. M Hadi Subhan, Director of Student Affairs UNAIR explained that this event was held by cooperation of the Central Committee of 62nd Dies Natalis of Universitas Airlangga, local committee, Islamic Arts UKM, Tanfidzul Qur’an UKM, and some external parties supporting the event. (*)
