Khatam Alquran Ceremony Ended with Dhikr and Sermon

UNAIR NEWS – Khatam Alquran Ceremony in celebration 62nd Dies Natalis of Universitas Airlangga was closed with various religious activities. They were held in Ulul Azmi Mosque Campus C UNAIR on Friday, November 4, started with a banjari performance from Islamic Arts UKM (UKMSR).

After that, there was dhikr session, then a sermon by the head of Islamic boarding school (Ponpes) Nurul Haromain, Pujon, Malang, KH. Ihya’ Ulumiddin. In his sermon, KH. Ihya’ emphasized the importance of dhikr. Before that, he also explained the roles of your parts of body, from eyes, hands and heart as the Allah SWT destiny.

“We have hearts for dhikr. If it is used always for remembering Allah, it is guaranteed to give peace,” he explained.

Regarding the heart, Ustadz Ihya’ stated that there is no hearts of human with constant peace but the prophets. Even when they sleep, they always remember Allah. By telling stories on them and their hardships, it emphasized the importance of dhikr as it gives peace.
“If anything happens, follow our Prophet,” said KH. Ihya’ Ulumiddin.

In the end of his sermon, he also explained no to underestimate dhikr, even though it was only utterances. It is important to repeat saying them as it will be a habit which can connect our hearts to Allah.

“If we are connected to Allah, there will be enlightment from Allah,” he added. “All eternal deeds are done for Allah, even a little. Do what you can to always remember Allah,” said KH. Ihya Ulumiddin. (*)
