FKM to Hold International Seminar on Health and Environments

UNAIR NEWS – In celebration of 62nd Dies Natalis of Universitas Airlangga, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) will hold an international seminar, “1st SEHAT (Seminar on Environment and Health) Toward SDG’s Achievement 2030: Integration System on Environment and Health Sustainability”. It will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, November 8-9, 2016, in Kahuripan 300, Management Office Building UNAIR.

As the head of the committee and one of the speakers in the seminar, Dr. R Azizah, SH., M.Kes said that the main objective of this seminar is to public awareness on health and environment. Furthermore, it is expected to facilitate information sharing from some disciplines related to health and environmental issues.

“The most important objective is to introduce university researches’ results. Universities have excellent researches. From the seminar, the researches’ result can be recommended for regional policies. Therefore, we also invited some policy makers from Bappeda, DPRD and some private companies,” said Azizah.

Beside Azizah, there will be more practitioners in the seminar, Veronique Mothelin (Director of Institute Fraincais Indonesia – Surabaya), Prof. Dato’ Dr. Nik Muhammad Nik Abd Majid ( University Putra Malaya), H. Bambang Wahyudi, SKM., MM., M.Kes (Head of HAKLI), Drs. Bambang Wispriono, Apt., Ph.D (Head of EHSA), Dr. Ir. H. RB Fattah Jasin, MS (Head of Bappeda JATIM), Ir. Rizkian Chandra (Director of PT. Semen Gresik), dr. Agung Mulyono (Head of Commission E DPRD JATIM), Dr. –ing. Hendra Wicaksono ( Lecturer of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology Germany), Dr. Dr. Tri Edhi B. S, M.Si (Lecturer of Universitas Indonesia) and Mr. Sharad Adykary of World Health Organization (WHO) as the Keynote Speaker in the seminar.

Azizah hoped that this international seminar can connect stakeholders, private companies and professional organization to share information and enable collaborations in realizing healty environment. Private companies also have important roles in realizing healthy environments as their CSR programs promoted.

There will be a city tour for the second day, the participants of the seminar are invited to visit Suramadu Bridge, heroes Monument and Mangrove Forest.
