UNAIR NEWS – Communication Forum of Student Clubs (Forkom UKM) Universitas Airlangga will hold a competition to bring about unity and sportsmanship of Universitas Airlangga students. This year, Forkom UKM will hold another Student Week held from November 6-20, 2016.
The objectives of Student Week are to facilitate students’ interests and talents to be achievements. This year, Student Week is held twice in a year. The previous Student Week was in a form of artistic competition between faculties in UNAIR called Airlangga Got Talent. While this periode it is in a form of sports competition.
There are eight sports or games, volleyball, basketball, futsal, table tennis, tennis, badminton, silat and chess.
“The people in charge are the member of each clubs. As of now, the preparation has been made and run well,” said Muhammad Rizal Karim as the committee of Student Week.
Student Week which is routinely held every year, seeks exceptional talents from UNAIR students so they can participate in national competition. Like the previous one, the winner of each category in Airlangga Got Talent will get an opportunity to Peksiminas.
With another Student Week this year, young talents can be found and developed so they can participate in Regional Student Games Week (POMDA).
Muhammad Aminudin Ghufron as the Head of Forkom explained that students’ enthusiasm to Student Week is always high every year. Therefore, Forkom UKM always makes innovation so Student Week is always interesting.
“This year it is deliberately held twice. If last time it was held closely with Peksiminas, this time it is done to prepare for POMDA. Sports demands great time of guidance and training. Therefore, Student Week is held now,” said Ghufron.
Gufron also added that beside to facilitate interests and talents. Student Week is also an event to reinforce unity and communication among other students.
