UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga keeps making efforts to collaborate with other universities around the world. It is being done to be a world class university and to reach Top 500 Universities. After a visit from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, on October 26, a delegation National Sun Yat-sen University (NSYSU) Taiwan also came to UNAIR with a same objectives, on Thursday October 27.
There were 21 delegates of National Sun Yat-sen University, present in the Plenary Room Management Office Building UNAIR. They were welcomed by Vice Rector III UNAIR Prof. Mochammad Amin Alamsjah, Ir., M.Si., Ph.D, Head of International Office and Partnership Dian Ekowati, SE., M.Si., M.AppCom(OrgCh)., Ph.D., and Vice Dean III from some faculties in UNAIR.
Similar to National Cheng Kung University, delegation of National Sun Yat-sen University also exploring opportunity for collaboration with UNAIR in education. In the occasion, Prof. Chih Wen Kuoas the Vice president for International Affairs presented academic activities in NSYSU and offered some educational programs such as master, doctoral and dual degree program.
“We have a lot of international partners for education program, we hope that UNAIR can join us in an academic collaboration,” said Prof. Chih Wen Kuo
In response to the statement, either Dian Ekowati or Prof. Amin Alamsyah was excited if there is a collaboration between UNAIR and NSYSU as some programs in NSYSU are similar with what UNAIR have. Collaboration will be conducted if there is an agreement in a form of MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between both institutions. As the previous MoU discussions, IOP is waiting for endorsement or requests from the faculties related to hold possible and mutual collaboration for both.
“For the possible collaboration to do in the near future between UNAIR and NSYSU is student exchange. For master, doctoral and dual degree program we need more time to do the mapping for some subjects in UNAIR and NSYSU,” explained Dian.
In a different occasion, Viqi Ardaniah, M.A. Linguistics as the expert staff of international affairs IOP, said that beside education collaboration, there is possibility for research and international publication collaboration between NSYSU and UNAIR, as NSYSU is expanding his range in Asia on research and publications.
“We hope that if this collaboration between UNAIR and NSYSU has been established, we can improve the number of Outbound Student and also the number of research and international publication,” said Viqi.
