UNAIR NEWS – Three delegates of Universitas Airlangga gained reputation in National Science and Youth Creativity Week 2016 held in Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. They are Leny Yulyaningsih from Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Wika Nastiti Prana Yuanti (FISIP), and Ahmad Farid Ary Wardana of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine (FPK).
Three of them were members of Reasoning Club (UKM) UNAIR. They won the first place in the competition held in Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar on October 20-24. Their paper titled “Coastal Villages Health Insurance (ASDP) Based on Sharia with Oyster Waste as Premium to Improve Quality of Life of Kenjeran Coastal Community Surabaya.”
“The initial step of course we determined the theme, and we decided to take Economics. Then we seek the problem in our surroundings. We found it, then we used sharia for the economic aspects,” said Leny.
Proposal Leny and team sent got into top 15. Then they presented it in Universitas Muhammadiyah Makassar. Leny said that the topic was caused by excessive oyster waste in coastal area so it pollutes the environment.
With Leny and team’s efforts, and supports of their friends in Reasoning Club, their paper was the best in the competition. Leny and her friends were happy for their achievement.
Furthermore, Leny was also glad as she could meet other participants from across Indonesia. Most of them were members of similar club in each university.
“As it is national level event and the participants were mostly from Reasoning club, we could know each other well. For example, from other universities who have participated in UNAIR Reasoning Club event, they received us well. They took us around visiting places. Reasoning Club branding is very useful,” said Leny. (*)
