UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Dentistry Universitas Airlangga is holding the biggest dental exhibition in East Java. With some professional and industrials’ partners, the event titled “AIDENTEX: Airlangga International Dental Expo 2016″ will be held in Dyandra Convention Center, from Thursday to Saturday, October 20 – 22.
There are hundreds of companies on dental instrumentation participated and crowded the hall. Some of the companies were Pepsodent, Thomasong, and Royal Dental Hospital. Beside exhibition, there is also workshop and mini symposium. The speakers for the workshop and symposium are FKG UNAIR academicians with different expertise.
AIDENTEX was opened by Vice Governor of East Java Saifullah Yusuf, Vice Rector IV UNAIR Junaidi Khotib, Ph.D., Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes, and Head of AIDENTEX Bambang Agustono, drg., Sp.Pros.
In his speech, Dean of FKG stated that the expo was held to introduce dental technology advancement to public as well as to promote dentists’ professionalism in providing service to the society.
“We invited Vice Governor of East Java so in the future, we can work together to improve health in Indonesia,” Darmawan Setijanto.
Vice Rector IV Junaidi Khotib appreciated AIDENTEX event. As the vice rector overseeing business collaboration, he said that this event is an opportunity for the academician to meet the industrials.
“At the moment, material and biomaterial either in dental health or the drugs are mostly imported. Through this meeting, hopefully there will be more innovations so the public satisfied with the medical service especially on dentistry,” said Junaidi.
In the opening there was also Dean of Faculty of Dentistry (FKG) across Indonesia, Head of Health Agency of East Java and Surabaya, Indonesian Dentists Association and other associations affiliated with dentistry.
AIDENTEX was visited by a lot of visitors from FKG students to general public, industrial representatives, to dentistry academician from all around Indonesia. According to Bambang, the online applications have reached 1,800 people. (*)
