UNAIR NEWS – Blood donation activity takes root among academicians of UNAIR. It can be seen from the frequent activities of blood donation held in UNAIR. On Tuesday, October 11, the blood donation activity was held in Management Office Building hall, Campus C, UNAIR.

This blood donation activity was a collaboration of Community Service Division of Student Executive Board – Student Family (BEM-KM) UNAIR and  Community Service Division of Faculties’ BEM in UNAIR. The event titled “Airlangga Health Month” is held for four days from Tuesday to Friday, October 14.

There are two events for “Airlangga Health Month“ They are, blood donation and health counseling like blood sugar and uric acid test. In the event, students and staff of UNAIR can donate their blood if they qualified and get free health test.

Head of Community Service of BEM KM UNAIR Fardhan Setyo Alamsyah in the interview said that the event will be held in four points, Airlangga Medical Education Center (AMEC) Campus A, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Campus B, UNAIR Library yard Campus B, and Management Office Building UNAIR Hall Campus C.

Through blood donation activity, Fardhan hoped that Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) will have more blood supply. “Hopefully PMI can fulfill their blood supply as they still need more blood. With this simple activity we can contribute to the community,” said Fardhan who is also a student of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) UNAIR.

The blood donation activity and counseling in Management Office Building UNAIR was held on Tuesday, October 11. There were a lot of students and staff of UNAIR participating in the event.

One of the PMI officials, Dian, said that through this collaboration of BEM KM UNAIR and faculties’ BEM, PMI is greatly supported. PMI will always come to the parties who want to donate their blood.

“We are glad for this kind of event. As we always come to the people who want to donate their blood,” said Dian.

Asked about their target, PMI never has target for blood supply during an event as the blood collected is expected to be the good quality so the process of the donation is quite strict. (*)
