UNAIR NEWS – Class reunion is one effective way to satisfy the longing for alma mater. With old friends from college presence, the alumni of Faculty of Medicine (FK) Universitas Airlangga class 1965 held a reunion.
“I feel happiness and joy meeting old friends. We shared stories of our school moments, full of memories and remembrance,” said Prof. Dr. Soehartono, dr., Sp.OG., K-FER., one of FK UNAIR alumni Class 1965.
On Friday, October 7, there were 120 alumni of Class 1965 FK UNAIR participating in the reunion. They held the 51st reunion by visiting Management Office Building UNAIR Campus C to look around the development of their alma mater.
The Class 0f 1965 FK UNAIR alumni were received by Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin. After their brief meeting, they then captured the moments by having their pictures taken in front of the Management Office Building.
“The reunion is to satisfy our longing and also to strengthen ties between friends, some from Australia, Germany and the USA, spared their time to come for this reunion,” said Prof. Soehartono after capturing the moments in photos.
The reunion lasted for three days from October 7-9. Some activities were planned such as going on a city tour from Kenjeran, Suramadu bridge, FK campus and museum visit. In FK, they were received by the Dean of FK and the head of alumni. During their stay in FK, they had exercise together, shopped together and even listening to sermon during dawn prayer together.
The reunion was the third time held by Class of ‘65 FK UNAIR. Last time they held a reunion in the “A Century of Medical Education UNAIR” in 2013.
As a souvenir from FK UNAIR, every ’65 alumnus got a reunion agenda book, personal photo, group photo and some interesting quotes.
One of them says:
‘‘Always focus on making ourselves and our family happy, it is no longer the time to accumulate wealth.” (*)
