UNAIR NEWS – Measuring the dangerous condition in work environment especially from the workers’ physical and fatigue was the thesis focus of the best master graduate of Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), Ika Meylan Christina Harahap. He successfully finished her study with almost perfect GPA, 3.98.

Her research was focused on physical and fatigue factor based on two indictors, sensitivity and specificity. With her thesis, she provided general illustration on the suitable jobs and which lactic acid measuring tool for the workers. Thesis titled “Pengaruh Paparan Faktor Fisik Terhadap Kelelahan pada Para Pekerja di Bagian Weaving dan Office PT. X Surakarta” made her named as the best graduate of September 2016.

“Nothing is perfect. But I try my best to reach perfection,” a principle she always held during her study from Senior High School to master program.

The student born on May 18 admitted that studying at college tests the patience and determination of the student. Based on her experience in K3 professional movement called Health Safety Environment (HSE) Indonesia in East Java, she learned to negotiate and make approach to companies. Beside motivating herself, parents’ supports also her greatest motivation.

The student who was funded by Kopertis Perjanjian Kerja Waktu Tertentu  (PKWT) during her bachelor study now works in Occupational Health and Safety Service Company (PJK3) Surabaya.

“What motivate me the most are my parents. It’s like we are being paid every month and our job was to study. It is a deserving way to be a daughter they can be proud of,” she said. (*)
