UNAIR NEWS – EMTEK MEDIA GROUP efforts to introduce itself to the next generation through Emtek Goes to Campus (EGTC), were into the last day, Thursday September 8. Similar with its first day, the event was opened by Campus Art Performance, workshops of Karir.com and HR SCM, also a stand-up comedy performance.
EGTC event which was held in Airlangga Convention Center Campus C UNAIR, famous singers, actors and public officials were present to motivate the participants.
During entrepreneurship workshop, dangdut singer Inul Daratista admitted that she was glad she could share her experience to students. She said that she went only to Junior high school and she had never thought of being a singer. She has struggled her way through to achieve success.
After struggling for it, Inul never felt content with it. So she started other line of business, “I don’t wan to be known only as dangdut singer. We have to be independent with our business,” said Inul who has a karaoke business.
Inul also emphasized that the future must be managed well with plans. “If there are no good plans for the future, let’s call it finished,” said Inul.
Even though Inul never studied at college, she never gave up learning. “I did not study to higher education, but I wanted to be smart. So, I learn from people better than me,” said Inul.
From the musicians, Ihsan, a singer from a talent competition Indonesian Idol, after entertaining the participants, encouraged them to always look for their own potentials. “Always look for your potentials,” he said while leaving the stage.
From the actors, there were Para Pencari Tuhan (PPT) actors and an actress. Agus Kuncoro, said that to take on a role is not an easy thing. There should be cooperations so the series can be enjoyed. “Therefore, when we play with words, we always watch the pause and the stop of the utterances,” Agus explained.
Minister of Transportation, Budi Karya Sumadi, also shared with students. In his speech, he encouraged the participants, who are mostly students to fill their days with useful things. “I used to participate in lots of activities. So fill your college days with useful things,” he said.
