UNAIR NEWS – The couple said their oath loudly. They were the leading voice for the other students of master, doctoral, professional, and specialist programs who were just affirmed by UNAIR Rector on Thursday morning, September 1 in Airlangga Convention Center (ACC). The loud voice eased the other students to follow.

Iptu Dian Sukma Purwanegara, SIK and Iptu Dini Annisa Rahmat, SIK, are two police officers who have just started their master studies in Postgraduate School on  Police Science Studies. The couple who got married in December, continued their studies together this year.

“We both like learning, and the department we choose is right to provide applicative insight to our profession,” said Dian, the man who works as The Head of Economic Crime Division of Criminal Unit of Polres Mojokerto.

He sadi that during his study, beside general police knowledge, he will get insight on investigations. The subject will surely support his work. Meanwhile, for Dini Annisa, knowledge on law and regulations will help her at work as educational staff in Police State School (SPN) Polda Jatim, Mojokerto.

Why did they choose UNAIR? They explained that their superiors in Polda Jatim always recommended the best place and UNAIR has good track record on the force. Its graduates are known for their great potentials and knowledge. “We thought that this university has guaranteed quality,” said Dini Annisa.

Asked if their studies disrupt their profession as policemen, Dinni Annisa said that they have made preparation to manage their time well. The woman born on July 23, 1991 even said that she was not worried if their time together even lessened.

“It’s just a problem of how to manage the time better also the quality of our time together,” she said.

They are even more enthusiastic as their superiors are supporting them. In Polda Jatim, said Dian Sukma, the superiors in each unit always support their personnel to improve themselves. The couple have determined to finish their study together and on time. They also hoped that their studies can expand their network either with fellow officers, or academicians. So beside gaining knowledge, network of friendship is also expanded. (*)
