UNAIR NEWS – In its effort to improve curriculum of public health, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) holds alumni gathering roadshow. The roadshow is a way to support UNAIR towards World Class University.
After holding alumni gathering in Jakarta on Sunday, July 31 for alumni in Jabotabek, last Sunday August 21, FKM UNAIR held a gathering in Bojonegoro for alumni who live in Bojonegoro and surrounding areas. The gathering was attended by at least 54 alumni.
“This roadshow was, first, to update the database of the alumni. Second, to expand the network of research collaboration and learning process of students. Third, to gather information on alumni with achievements,” said Vice Dean III FKM UNAIR, Ira Nurmala, S.KM., M.PH., P.Hd.
Research collaboration improvement has been done by FKM academician with the regional government of Bojonegoro. The collaboration were on hospital management, environmental health and health promotion.
“As of 2016, S1 students of Public Health will have problem based learning program in Kabupaten Bojonegoro in collaboration with the administrations,” said the Head of S1 Public Health program, Corie Indria Prasasti, S.KM., M.Kes.
In the gathering, one by one alumni was asked to made testimony and what contribution they have given to the community as the bachelors of public health.
“Public health is a complete study. When I work, I could adapt easily with all tasks given to me, and my superior is satisfy with my work. They trusted me as Director of Padhangan in Bojonegoro,” said Ninik Susmiyati, S.KM, alumnus of S-1 Public Health UNAIR in 1987.
“To expand the alumni networking, FKM also planned to work with Alumni Association (IKA FKM),” said Vice Dean III FKM UNAIR. (*)
