UNAIR NEWS – Theme of “Indonesia Kerja Nyata ” in the 71st Independence Day celebration incited special spirit to all elements of nation, including UNAIR academicians. The routine agenda, on August 17, UNAIR always holds a ceremony. It was held in the yard of Management Office Building UNAIR, and it became a great moment to spread the independence spirits.

Quoted from the speech of Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education, UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., explained the importance of real work in UNAIR . As the big theme of this year’s independence day, real work is actually a part of UNAIR.

“If the government promotes Indonesia Kerja Nyata as a theme, in UNAIR there is already Kuliah Kerja Nyata (Community Service program),” said Rector followed with applause.

Prof. Nasih who was also awarded Satya Lencana Karya Satya for his 20 years dedication, also encouraged all the academicians, lecturers or students to keep developing innovations and researches to achieve independent nation.

“Let’s keep improving innovations, all efforts towards them to realize independence,” said Prof. Nasih.

In the occasion, the professor of FEB UNAIR also encouraged the attending academicians to always use products produced in the country, especially products produced and created by UNAIR academicians.

“To improve independence, let’s buy and use our own products,” he said.

In the end of the speech, Prof. Nasih also shouted “Merdeka! Merdeka ! Merdeka!”, and then walked towards the commander of the ceremony and congratulated the flag hoisting team (Paskibraka). (*)
