UNAIR NEWS – Awardee Community of LPDP UNAIR met UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih, MT., SE., Ak, CMA., last Friday, August 5. They talked with the Professor of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) intimately. The topic was about some programs they have done and to do in the future.
Awardees Coordinator LPDP UNAIR M. Hamzah Solih said that the awardees have collaborated well with university, especially with the library. Even, the unit led by Prof. Dr. I Made Narsa, S.E., M.Si., CA, has already prepared special space named Scholarship Corner.
Since March, every Wednesday, awardees of LPDP UNAIR and also supported by awardees from other campuses in East Java has held sharing session and scholarship promotion there. “There were many people interested,” said Hamzah, a student of Biology master program UNAIR.
Eben Haezer, Hamzah’s partner added, in the next October there will be a big event in Surabaya, a conferment ceremony of LPDP East Java Coordinator. All LPDP high officials and regional representatives from all around Indonesia are scheduled to attend. “UNAIR and its awardees will take parts in it,” said the student of Media and Communication master program.
Prof Nasih welcomed well all programs they have done and they do. He said that the campus wants to incite spirits to continue studies to master or doctoral. Therefore, the awardees roles are quite important.
“Clearly, we will always support it. Most importantly, we need to maintain communication, including about the upcoming event in October. We are ready to suppoot,” he said to the awardees.
Interestingly, in the meeting, LPDP awardees also present a book, “Menggapai Asa Bersama LPDP”. It was an essay collection book of LPDP UNAIR scholarship awardees. Some alumni who are studying abroad also sent their essays. In the book, there is an inspiring opening statement from UNAIR Rector Prof. Nasih. They also gave one book to the Vice Rector.
Vice Rector II Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin., also appreciated the book.
“The book will be spread to public, especially students. Hopefully it can boost their spirit or motivate them,” said the lecturer of FEB. (*)
