UNAIR NEWS – In their internationalization effort, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) and Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University (UBRU) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The MoA signing was done by Dean of FKM UNAIR Prof. Dr. Tri Martiana, and Dean of FKM UBRU Assist. Prof. Dr. On Anong Bureelerd in high official meeting room in FKM, Wednesday July 13.
The MoA signing was witnessed by the staff of FKM, President of UBRU and other UBRU delegates. According to Vice Dean I Dr. Santi Martini, this signing was a continuation of previous agreement lasted from 2013 to 2015. Santi said that UBRU has a positive impression from last collaboration.
“During our collaboration with UBRU, we actively held many activities every year. We have had research collaboration on paraquat pesticides in Jember, outbond program such as student and staff exchange to UBRU, and an international conference holding “International Conference on Occupational Health and Safety (ICOHS)” on October 30-31, 2013, and “The 1st International Conference 2015 on Public Health in ASEAN” on December 14-15, 2015 in UBRU,” Santi said.
For this collaboration, both sides agreed to had research collaboration and publications also international conference. “Research funding has just been approved by Dikti was on nicotine exposure to tobacco farmers. We are going to conduct some research in the centers of tobacco farming such as Probolinggo, Bojonegoro and Jember. The objective is to get international publication to support UNAIR towards Top 500 World Classs University,” said Santi.
Then, after the research, in 2018 there will be an international conference attended by ASEAN countries’ researches. After the MoA signing, Assist. Prof. Supaporn Chaigarun, a researcher and also vice dean of FKM UBRU, gave a public lecture on nicotine exposure to tobacco farmers. (*)
