UNAIR and UBRU Thailand Establish Research Collaboration

UNAIR NEWS – Ten delegates of Ubon Ratchathani Rajabhat University (UBRU) have visited Universitas Airlangga to sign a Memorandum of Understanding for future collaborations. They were welcomed by UNAIR Rector and some faculty officials in Plenary Room on Wednesday, July 13.

The delegates were Assist. Prof. Prachoom Pongpan (Rector of UBRU), Assist. Prof. Dr. Aree Luangna (Vice Rector of UBRU), Assist. Prof. Damrongchai Sokantat (Faculty of Agriculture Dean) , Assist. Prof. Dr. On Anong Bureelerd (Faculty of Public Health Dean), Assist. Prof. Chariya Panthwangkoon (Faculty of Thailand Traditional Medication Dean), Assist. Prof. Supaporn Chaigarun (FKM Vice Dean), Dr. Ananya Dechakhampu (Thailand Traditional Medication Lecturer and Researcher), Assist. Prof. Surin Luangna (FKM  UBRU Researcher and Lecturer), Dr. Sungwari Sombon (Faculty of Agricultuure Researcher and Lecturer), and Dr. Nattakit Sawadthaisong (Head of International Affairs of UBRU).

From UNAIR, there were officials of Faculty of Public Health, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Nursing and the Head of International Office and Partnership. According to UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. M. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, the collaboration established was on researches and publications in international journals Scopus indexed and staff exchange to UBRU.

“It’s academic collaboration, especially on researches and publications as they are the most important. Previously we had student exchange program. There will be staff exchange, research collaboration, and we will concern more to publications. We will send our representatives to be reviewers there and vice versa,” said UNAIR Rector.

The professor of Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) also said that overseas university visit was the right moment to expand UNAIR’s  international collaborations.

“We will collaborate with any universities. If there are colleagues from Thailand, Malaysia, and other country want to collaborate with UNAIR, we will welcome them enthusiastically as in the future, we cannot work alone, we have to work together,” Prof. Nasih added.

One of UBRU FKM parties which have collaborated with FKM UNAIR presented their collaborative experience held for two years from 2013-2015. The collaboration was based on Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) signed on March 21, 2013.

The collaboration was on sanitary and water management research, lecturing staff exchange and also international conference themed “International Conference on Occupational Health and Safety (ICOHS)” on October 30-31 2013, and “The 1st International Conference 2015 on Public Health in ASEAN” on December 14-15 2015 in UBRU.
