UNAIR NEWS – Students of Nutrition bachelor program, Faculty of Public Health (FKM) , Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) also have entrepreneurship skill. They held a bazaar in Soemarto Hall, on Wednesday June 1. It was a practical activity of entrepreneurship and nutrition class.
Bazaar started at nine in the morning, was crowded by students and lecturers. There were ten unique and nutritional food stands of prepared by the students who took the class. Most of the participants offered food with measured nutrition for costumers.
The supervisor of the class, Siti Rahayu Nadhiroh, S.KM, M.Kes, said that, it was held for the first time to substitute the end of term exam of her class. It was the implementation of theories she taught in class. Nadhiroh felt pleased because it was welcomed enthusiastically by the students as she had hoped.
“For the first time, it has shown great results. Students could create business innovation which concern with the nutrition and food safety. Even though some still need to learn more as it was the first for them. I hope this activity can trigger their creativity on entrepreneurship and nutrition,” said Nadhiroh while showing some food products made by her students.
Because of great enthusiasm of the visitors, some stands has run out of products in less than three hours. Through this activity, the students also learn to innovate products based on its nutritions, the promotion and marketing and product designs.
Novi and Della, both students and participants of the bazaar, said that they were pleased with the activity. For them, it has succeeded in showing their creativity. (*)
