UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) allocates 1,568 seats through independent admission. The allocation is consistent with the government regulation, which the quota for SNMPTN 40%, SBMPTN 30% and Independent admission 30%.
UNAIR independent admission selection is the last opportunity given to senior high school graduates to be UNAIR students for 2016/2017 term. As released on the page of Student Admission Center (PPMB) UNAIR, the independent admission is done online through http://pendaftaran.unair.ac.id, from June 13 to July 14, 2016.
To enroll through independent admission, the senior high school graduates must show their certificate of graduation (2014 and 2015 graduation) or national exam result certificate for 2016 graduates, online personal details submission, document completeness letter, tuition fee agreement, id card and the latest photo. The student can access the forms on http://ppmb.unair.ac.id/web/site/mandiri.
In 2016/2017, there are five programs in UNAIR opening international class, Medical Education (20), Dentistry (10), Pharmacy Education (10), Veterinary Education (15) and Psychology Double Degree (10). For foreign students, they have to get recommendation from the Indonesian embassy in their countries, SMA graduates 2014-2016 with graduation certificates from the headmaster.
The independent admission test was divided into three groups, IPA, IPS, and IPC. The participants must pay Rp 300 thousand for IPA and IPS, and Rp. 500 ribu for IPC. According to the regulation, UNAIR allocates 713 seats for science and medical program, 795 seats for social program and 60 seats for PDD (out of domicile program) Banyuwangi.
Vice Rector I UNAIR Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Sp.PD, K-GH, FINASIM, overseeing academic and student affairs, said that there is no discrimination for students who are financially disabled.
“For financially disabled students, they can choose any admission channel. When they are academically graduated and have right to study at UNAIR, even though they are disabled financially, the state will provide,” said Prof. Djoko.
To complete that statement, UNAIR Director of Student Affairs Dr. Hadi Subhan, S.H., M.H., said that Bidikmisi quota is opened for independent admission if there are not enough awardees from SNMPTN and SBMPTN.
This year, UNAIR accepted 830 people for Bidikmisi students, 373 people were from SNMPTN and for SBMPTN has to wait for the results announcement on June 28, 2016.
“As planned, UNAIR will open Bidikmisi quota for Independent admission. But it is still an option. We will see SBMPTN quota first, has it met or not. If not, then we will formulate the SOP for Bidikmisi program through independent admission. It is the first time planned so we haven’t determined the details yet,” said Hadi.
For the independent admission test, Prof. Djoko encouraged the students to prepare well. “Because we want to get good talents, so they have to prepare the best they can,” said Prof. Djoko. (*)
