UNAIR Delegations Win Islamic Study Competition

UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga delegations have won in SELF (Sharia Economic Learning Forum) Student Converence Sustainable Development held by Islamic Economy Study Group – Islamic Economist Society (KSEI ICON!) Universitas Udayana, Bali. The national competition was held on May 12-15.

The competition held for its 13th time had a topic “Pengoptimalan Sumber Daya yang Adil dan Seimbang untuk Kesejahteraan Rakyat Indonesia (Fair and Balanced Natural Resources Optimization for Indonesian Prosperity”. There were five sub-topics, tourism, creative industry, agro complex, socio politics, and marine.

With a paper titled “BERAGAM (Beras Analog Gembili): Upaya Pemanfaatan Gembili (Dioscorea esculenta) sebagai Pengganti Beras Konvensional untuk Mendukung Indonesia Sehat dan Sejahtera” Zuhairoh Naily S., Aprila Dila P., and Ahmad Farid A. succeeded to be the first winner at agrocomplex category. The three are Resoning Club members in UNAIR.

Other team consisted of Zakka Farisy B, Lusi Sulistyaningsih, and Khaula Qurrata’ayun also became the first winner at marine category. Their paper titled  “Strategi Peningkatan Produktivitas Nelayan Gerbangkertosusila Melalui Sistem Tanggung Renteng Pada Koperasi Berbasis ITQS”. The three of them are in the fourth semester in Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UNAIR.

“We chose the title because we want to optimize potentials possessed by Indonesia marine and fishery sectors, by using cooperatives as the medium,” said Zakka Farisy who was also named as the best delegate.

There were three phases of the competition, paper presentation, Focus Group Discussion (FGD), and final conference. In presentation phase and FGD a winner was determined from each sub-topic. Then in conference phase, one person was determined as the best delegate from all delegations competing in SELF until it was over.

“We hoped that in the future, we could motivate other students in UNAIR to keep developing their knowledges so they can bring Airlangga good reputation,” said Zakka. (*)
