[Podcast] AYMUN Discuss Maritime Issues on UN Conference Simulation

UNAIR RADIO – International Relations Student Association (HIMAHI), Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) invited senior high school and college students to feel the UN conference atmosphere.

This year, HIMAHI initiated Airlangga Youth Model United Nations (AYMUN) with a theme “The Evolving Maritime World”. The event will be held on June 3-5, 2016 at Hotel Crown Prince in Surabaya.

“The objectives of AYMUN are to improve students attention to global issues and also to learn the resolution system through UN formal organizations,” said Govinda Yudhistira, one of AYMUN 2016 committee.

Organizations or committee opened for AYMUN are WTO (World Trade Organization), UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme), and UNSC (United Nations Security Council). In AYMUN there is also Press Commerce (PC) group, which is journalism simulation representing newsmaker company and writing stories about UN conference.

The speakers presented for AYMUN panel discussion were interesting, they are Prof. Dr. Makarim Wibisono, MA-IS., MA, as a professor of International Relationship FISIP UNAIR, Gracia Paramitha, S.Hub.Int., M.Si,, as Global Youth Advisor at TUNZA UNEP (United Nations for Environmental Programme), and TNI Young Admiral Darwanto, S.H., M.A.P, as the Commander of Eastern Indonesian Fleet Command.

AYMUN participants will be invited to join a city tour and closing ceremony.
