UNAIR NEWS –Safari Kebangsaan Merajut Kebinekaan team or known as Sabang – Merauke team of Indonesian People of Consultative Assembly(MPR RI) arrived at Universitas Airlangga, on Thursday, May 12. The team was at UNAIR to disseminate four foundations of life as nation in Garuda Mukti Hall, Management Office Building UNAIR.
The event was attended by the Chairman of MPR RI Zulkifli Hasan, Mayor of Surabaya Tri Rismaharini, and UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. M. Nasih, S.E., M.T., Ak, as speakers. Hundreds of UNAIR students from many departments were also there.
The chairman of MPR RI said that our democracy is getting better, even though there is still much homework to do. He viewed that democracy is easy to comprehend by people but the nationalism values internalization should be disseminate in regard of its substantial and ethics.
To implement this internalization process optimally, Zulkifli said that the government needs to revive State Policy Guidelines (GBHN). They function as governmental guidelines to continue Indonesian development.
“We need the state guidelines to manage our state for the next 20 to 50 years from now,” he said.
Similar to MPR RI Chairman’s statement, Mayor of Surabaya also emphasized the importance of development consistency. It should be maintained so the governmental transition will not affect the ongoing development.
Risma also said that many of her subordinates are from other regions in Indonesia. “Our concern to others like theirs are what we need to be a great nation.
As the host, UNAIR Rector viewed four foundations from economic managerial. The professor of FEB UNAIR emphasized that four foundations are implemented in UNAIR, from its students, employees, to the officials.
“Economic principle towards public prosperity will be achieved if it is continuous, inclusive and fair. That’s what we implement at UNAIR,” he said. (*)
