UNAIR NEWS – Internationalization of university needs supports of educational curriculum development. In a workshop (Rejuvenate MoU in Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)’ held on Wednesday, April 27Director of Education Prof. Dr. Ni Nyoman Tri Puspaningsih, Dra., M.Si, said that international education program in UNAIR divided into two aspects, mobility and program.
To accelerate towards Top 500 World Class University, Prof. Nyoman emphasized the importance of program development. Two things needs to improve are program accreditation from international accreditation organizations, and also double degree program implementation just S-1 Psychology with Queensland University of Technology, Australia.
Two speakers from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Vice Dean of Faculty of Geography Prof. Dr. M. Aries Marfai, S.Si, and Vice Director of Cooperation, Alumni and Global Initiation Dr. Danang Hadmoko also present to explain university internationalization implemented in UGM.
In the occasion, Prof. Aris elaborated development of international cooperation in forms of research collaborations, double degree and academic programs. “To get international collaboration, the main point is networking,” said Prof. Aries.
Prof. Aries also said that three important aspects of getting research collaborating partners were connection with the alma mater of lecturers, continuing research by developing previous collaboration and the last is starting a new collaboration through publications or meeting during international forums.
In the last session, Danang also discussed about international student outreach programs (KKN), things need to prepapare, and its advantages we can gain from the implementation. (*)
