UNAIR NEWS – In preparation for National Student Science Week (PIMNAS) 2016, Directorate of Student Affair (UNAIR) held Student Writing Creativity Program (PKM-GT) Workshop on Friday, April 8. For the workshop, there were dozens of PKM-GT teams and two members of Student Supervising Team (TPK) Agus Widyantoro, SH., MH., and Dr. Eduardus Bimo Aksono, drh., M.Kes who briefed students.
In the workshop, dozens of PKM-GT titles to be admitted for General Directorate of Higher Education (Dikti) selections were reviewed. The submission period of PKM-GT is closed on April 29, 2016. Through this workshop hopefully PKM-GT proposals submitted will be better, with higher target but still feasible, with more depth in composition so there will be more teams through the 29th PIMNAS 2016.
”For PKM-GT, there are about 40 proposals admitted from UNAIR. Hopefully this year will be more,” said Afri Andiarto, a staff of Student Affairs directorate UNAIR.
As planned, 29th PIMNAS (2016) is going to be held in Institut Pertanian Bogor (IPB). In this annual science agenda, there are 167titles of PKM which are funded by General Directorate of Higher Education (Dikti). They consist of 64 PKM-P (Research), 33 PKM-M (Commmunity Service), 43 PKM-K(Entrepreneurship) and 3 PKM-T (Technology) also 24 PKM-KC(Karsa Cipta).
In his briefing, Agus Widyantoro, SH., MH stated there are many happenings which can be analyzed and offered for solutions. Here is where PKM-GT offered. But not only to offer ideas but also with detailed values, its advantages and application including its economic value.
”There are many problems waiting for solutions such as why people commit suicide? There are many homeless people in the street. How can we prevent recurrence accidents in a week before and after Islamic Holidays. They are all related to psychology, economy, culture and so on,” said Agus, FH lecturer which often becomes the Head of UNAIR Contingents in PIMNAS.
Dr. E. Bimo Aksono added that in PKM-GT, it is all right to offer ambitious ideas or even dreams, but they are should be still feasible. They can be realized with significant advantages. So students’ creativity will showed the strength of the proposals.
Therefore, said the lecture of FKH UNAIR, the writing process of PKM –GT should be systematic and chronological. The introduction should not go around the bush elaborating ideas and their substantials, solutions offered, and the roles in the solutions including government roles and so on.
”Therefore, one of the objectives of PKM-GT is to promote scientific writing on ideas and creativity. It is a contest of those ‘dreams’, said Bimo Aksono, who is also the secretary of Information and Public Relations (PIH) UNAIR. (*)
