UNAIR NEWS – The increasing cases of domestic violence which could adversely impact on the psychological condition of a family members, apparently has attracted the attention I Dewa Ayu Dewi Puspita Dwika to conduct further research.
The results were then written into a thesis entitled “Dynamics of Forgiveness in Wife Experiencing Domestic Violence”. That thesis, who helped Dwika to be the best graduate S-1 Faculty of Psychology Universitas Airlangga with 3.72 GPA.
“My subject is a victim of domestic violence still persists in marriage. But when I went to several foundations, they advise me to change the subject of the research to victims of domestic violence who have divorced. The consideration was people who experienced domestic violence and stayed in a marriage would be difficult to find, because the husband still dominate the wife and limit the wife space. It is different to victims who are divorced, “says woman born in Gianyar, July 11, 1994.
After going through various obstacles, the activist of organizations finally got her subjects. It was all thanks to her friends’ assistance. Originally, the selected subjects were reluctant to speak and they refused as they were afraid of their husbands. However, Dwika managed to convince other subjects willing to help to complete the research.
The girl who plans to teach in Rumah Pintar Matahari was pleased as she was supported by family, lover, and friends who encouraged her when she was having a dull phase. She talked a lot with her parents. Even her sister and her brother also contributed in reminding and helping when heading presentation.
“Learn with enthusiasm and keep trying. Everything is certainly possible to happen, including to achieve the expectations. Keep learning to develop yourselves and enjoy the process, “said Dwika when asked about her message to her juniors. (*)
