UNAIR NEWS – Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (PPKK) Universitas Airlangga held a seminar on “Kesempatan Berkarir di Instansi Negeri dan BUMN (Opportunity to Have a Career in State Institution or State owned Company)” on Friday March 11. It was held in Garuda Mukti Hall, UNAIR Management Office and initiated by Dr. Triyoga Budi Prasetyo, the Head of Alumni Association of UNAIR Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP).
Brigjen TNI Drs. Subroto, MM as the Chief of Conference and Institutional Relations Bureau of Coordinating Ministry of Political, Legal, and Security Affairs and Dr. Triyoga Budi Prasetyo, Chief of Division of Conference Script Preparation of the same ministry were invited to discuss about the State Civil Apparatus Law (UU ASN).
According to Triyoga, university graduates need to know more about UU ASN as civil servant recruitments or state own company recruitment currently adopts patterns of recruitment used in private companies. Every graduate should not have competencies only but also excellent life skills.
Secretary of PPKK, Dr. Epy Muhammad Luqman said that excellent GPA even cumlaude does not guarantee to be PNS. New recruitment patterns for PNS or BUMN employees have been applied.
To pass the test, materials related to nationalism such as ideology, state foundation, or even historical materials are obliged to be understood.
“The event was aimed to motivate students that career should be planned eventhough to be a PNS. To be one, certain qualities are needed. You have to prepare early. If you are weak in leadership, you must update your ability when you are students and so on,” he said while emphasizing that students now cannot rely on networking and connections.
According to Epy, the seminar was for students who want to be PNS. The essential thing, Epy continued, of the seminar was to prepare UNAIR graduates to have competitive skill and highly absorbent in the market. (*)
