UNAIR NEWS – Student Executive Board (BEM) Islamic Education Science (IPAI) Student Association of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) Bandung has held an event called Islamic Education Fair. It was held for three days on February 19-21, 2016 to propose solutions in integrating Islamic values with education.
A girl from UNAIR also contributed creative ideas in the event. She was Kiki Awalul Chasanah, a student from UNAIR Faculty of Public Health, who was also a representative of Reasoning Student Club (UKM). Kiki put forward her creative idea through the essay competition and got the first place from 12 finalists in the competition.
Other finalists were from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Universitas Satya Negara Indonesia, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Politeknik Negeri Bandung, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, and also UNAIR. Kiki’s essay titled “Children Islamic Education Park Berbasis Fun Religion Learning sebagai Upaya Pembentukan Karakter Penyambung Rantai Pasokan Berkualitas Islami yang Beradab”.
The student who has ever been a champion in LKTIN 2nd Indonesian Medical Scientific Competition Faculty of Medicine Universitas Lambung Mangkurat said that it was her first participation in a competition held by UPI Bandung.
“The article was inspired from my amazement of Asma’ul Husnah museum in Madinah and Islamic comics which teach Islamic values subtly, but not many people know about them,” Kiki said.
The student who has interests on photography and design explained her creative process to the article composition was by collaborating Islamic comics and Asma’ul Husnah museum as a concept of Islamic education park. She won and she had expected more from the article she submitted.
“Hopefully my article can be realized with the spirit of Excellence with Morality,” she said. (*)
