FKp UNAIR to Develop 11 Nursing Institutions

UNAIR NEWS – Faculty of Nursing(FKp) UNAIR signed an MoU of its Tri Dharma implementation with 11 other nursing education institutions in East Java, Central Java and South Kalimantan on Monday, February 15 in FKp UNAIR building.

The eleven institutions were STIKes Ngudia Husada Madura, STIKes Pemkab Jombang, STIKes Muhammadiyah Banjarmasin, STIKes Maharani Malang, Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang, Poltekkes Kemenkes Surabaya, FIK Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, FIK Universitas Islam Sulan Agung Semarang, FIK Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya, FIK Universitas Pesantren Tinggi Darul Ulum Jombang and Lakesla Drs. Med. R. Rijadi S., Phys Surabaya.

As a nursing faculty which has been acknowledged for its quality, FKp UNAIR wants to support other nursing education institutions to develop their qualities.

“We expect more from this MoU, not merely signings sessions. There should be a concrete form of it. All this time, there have been follow-ups from FKp UNAIR,” said the Dean of FKp UNAIR,  Prof. Dr. Nursalam, M.Nurs., (Hons). According to him, FKp UNAIR wanted to share its experience to institutions which is going to have their accreditations or re-accreditations so they can get better results.

Vice Dean III FKp UNAIR, Dr. Ahmad Yusuf, S.Kp., M.Kes added that this cooperation was a part of FKp UNAIR effort to contribute in standardizing the field of nursing which has not been well-standardized.

“In terms of education, we will review our curriculums together, FKp UNAIR is expected to be center of curriculum development in East Java,” he said. FKp UNAIR is also going to start collaborative researches with institutions involved in this cooperation. Furthermore, the results are going to be used in providing service in the communities, so this MoU which was aimed to perform Tri Dharma of the university will be achieved.

In addition, he also said that in the future, FKp UNAIR will also expand this program to eastern part of Indonesia.

“East Java is indeed developed to improve eastern Indonesia, in fact, we have developed some educational institution there such as in NTT,”

The dean of Faculty of Health Science (FIK) Universitas Muhammadiyah Surabaya, Nur Mukarromah welcomed this cooperation enthusiastically.

“FKp UNAIR has been accredited A. So hopefully this cooperation is useful for our institutions in the future,” she said.(*)
