UNAIR NEWS – LPDP Edufair 2016 held on Thursday, February 4 attracted 10,500 people. The event gave real economic effect as it brought more customers to faculty canteens surrounding Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), the venue of the event. Food stalls suddenly made greater profits.
Based on UNAIR NEWS observation, they were mostly from various towns in East Java. They were not only from Surabaya but also Pasuruan, Lamongan, Gresik, Bojonegoro, Tuban, and other towns. Thus, UNAIR academicians must have shared with them.
LPDP Edufair 2016 overflowing crowds were seen from the beginning. The queue had been long since morning. The event had attracted great enthusiasm since it promoted Indonesian favorite scholarship: LPDP.
Furthermore, there were booths from national and international campuses. Interestingly, they offered programs and courses through parallel classes. At least there were four parallel classes, plus English test simulation.
“I am looking for the right campus for my doctoral degree. Also, to know how to apply for the scholarships,” said S2 student MMT ITS from Cerme Gresik named Muhammad Husein.
D. Zawawi Imron, well-known humanist, was also present to give some brief message to the Edufair enthusiasts. One of his topics was about locality. He said that even there were participant coming from a remote region, it did not change their opportunity to success.
“Everyone deserves success. Importantly, pray and work hard,” he said. (*)
