UNAIR NEWS – Martial Arts student club Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate (PSHT) is conducting its training center session. Some materials given are focused on strength and agility and also martial arts techniques consolidation.

The martial arts community is now training intensively for The 3rdSebelas Maret International Pencak Silat PSHT Championship. It will be held in Universitas Sebelas Maret Solo from March 19 to to March 24, 2016.

The international championship is held to commemorate 100 years of PSHT and the 40th Anniversary of Universitas Sebelas Maret. International delegations also participate in the championship held once in two years. Some of them are from The Nation of Brunei, Malysia, Holland and Timor Leste.

There are various categories contested, Tanding, Single, Double, Team (TGR). There are ten classes for Branches and International Delegations and six classes for Universities.
“This time we will send our best fighters, about fifteen of them. Insya Allah we will continue the winning tradition,” said Alam Budi Kusuma, the bronze medal winner in Male Double in the previous championship two years ago.

Alam explained that there will be a selection stage to join the competition because the participants of the championship are not ordinary. There are international contingents, most of them have been familiar with competitions such as SEAGAMES or OLYMPIC GAMES.
Thus, the fighters of PSHT UNAIR are expected to be serious during training and selection. Hopefully, with strong resolve, training and prayer, PSHT UNAIR can maintain its winning tradition as their motto: Semangat Dadi Juara! (*)
