UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga received another visit from senior high school students. They are from SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo on Wednesday January 20 and SMAN 1 Sidayu Gresik on Thursday January 21. Both schools were welcomed by staff of Information and Public Relations Center in Garuda Mukti Hall, UNAIR Management Office.
PIH UNAIR Secretary, Dr. Eduardus Bimo Aksono H, drh., M.Kes stated that their visit was special. The hall where they gathered was a sacred hall for UNAIR civitas academica because all professors were conferred there.
Maisaroh, M.Pd, supervising teacher from SMAN 1 Taman Sidoarjo said that her visit with 358 students was to strengthen ties with UNAIR as it was programmed every year.
“This visit is annual program of the school. Alhamdulillah! Thank you for the warm welcome in this special hall. Hopefully this sacred hall can be the trigger for our students to be successful individuals,” she said.
Similar with Maisaroh, Drs. H.M Basori as the supervising teacher of SMAN 1 Sidayu Gresik hoped that the visit of 269 students and 12 teachers can be the first step to determine the right study. Information of the campus can be used to plan what to do when they are at college.
“We hoped the information on SNMPTN, SBMPTN and campus life can help our students and they can be professors as many of them conferred here,” said Basori.
Information presented by UNAIR Student Admission Center was in details. Other than the official page on SNMPTN launched this week, the regulations can be better understood by the students.
“There is something different with this year’s SNMPTN, the percentage of students for the selection was decided by the committee through each school accreditation, as implemented in 2011 and 2012,” said Drs. Adri Supardi, MS, as PPMB UNAIR representative.
