UNAIR NEWS – The Accreditation Publicity and Open House Airlangga Health Science Institute (AHSI) mark full accreditation achievement by Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RS UNAIR). Full Accreditation is the highest acknowledgement given by the government to hospital management, it is regulated standards.
The event held on the seventh floor of Infectious Disease Hospital (RSKI) on Tuesday, November 15, was attended by the General Director of Science and Technology Resources Dikti, General Director of Healthcare Service of Ministry of Health, Executive Chairman of National Hospital Accreditation Committee (KARS), Director of UNAIR Hospital and other UNAIR officials and medical staff.
In his speech, Director of UNAIR Hospital, Prof. DR. Dr. Nasronudin SpPD-KTI., explained that their efforts to achieve full accreditation were not easy. He explained that UNAIR was at first trying to improve system of their service and management. He and his team even often stayed overnight for the accreditation of UNAIR Hospital.
“To achieve this full accreditation, we did not just work hard but we worked extra-ordinary hard,” he said followed with a round of applause.
The professor of FK UNAIR also explained that UNAIR Hospital has received national response with its status from Type C hospital to Type B hospital. Furthermore, the hospital which started operation in 2011 is also in process of accreditation visitation to get acknowledgement as a teaching hospital. (RSP).
UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA was also present. In his speech he said that RSUA was the first RSP in Indonesia.
“From the start, UNAIR has committed for RSP. Now, it’s just one more step. We provide healt service and also produce professional doctors to serve around Indonesia. We, of course, collaborate with FK. RSUA as the fist RSP in Indonesia. That’s why this became one of the ways,” said Prof. Nasih.
General Director of Science and Technology Resources Dikti Prof. Ali Gufron Mukti., M.Sc., Ph.D., appreciated RS UNAIR rapid development. He also added that UNAIR Hospital has achieved full five star accreditation.
“In Indonesia, with that accreditation are only UNAIR and UGM,” he said.
Prof. Ali Gufron also appreciated UNAIR Hospital success for being Type B hospital. He also supported RSUA to be a teaching hospital. In his speech, the professor of UGN hoped that synergy between university can be achieved and they can learn together.
“We want universities and their hospitals have excellences. Please learn together, insya Allah we support it. Remember that universities do not compete each other but they have their own research schemes and excellences,” he said. (*)
